Pamela Anderson Reveals Near-Death Encounter After Being Mistaken for Member of The Chicks

Aiexpress – Pamela Anderson was nearly killed by a man who confused her for a member of The Chicks, she stated on a Monday episode of the podcast “Happy Sad Confused.”

She explained that the event occurred on an aircraft years ago, when she was approached and attacked by a man who clearly assumed she was a member of the country music group. The altercation eventually resulted in the man being handcuffed.

“This one time, I was on a flight and this guy came up to me and said, ‘Do you know what this country’s done for you?'” Anderson stated. “And I said, ‘Oh my God. “What did I do?”

The “Last Showgirl” star went on to say that every time she looked back at the man after the original confrontation, he was glaring at her. It came to the point that the man needed to be restrained during the flight.

“This stewardess had to handcuff him to the chair because he was trying to attack me,” she told me. “Yeah. He ended up thinking I was a Dixie Chick. Remember the entire Dixie Chick thing? I was almost killed on a plane.”

She continued by revealing, “I was scared to fly after that, a little.”

Anderson did not specify the year of the mistaken identity, but based on the man’s reaction, it occurred during a 2003 London concert for the country music trio (now known as The Chicks), during which frontwoman Natalie Maines denounced President George W. Bush and the invasion of Iraq. The comments drew strong criticism, and the group was blacklisted by much of the country music world for years.

Maines apologized for her condemnation after it occurred, but later retracted it during an interview with Time Magazine in 2006.

“I apologized for disrespecting the presidency. But I don’t feel that way anymore,” she explained. “I don’t feel he is owed any respect whatsoever.”

In 2020, the group changed its name to simply The Chicks.
