
Cockroach Labs, a NYC-based supplier of cloud-native distributed SQL database CockroachDB, raised $278m in Sequence F funding at a valuation of $5 billion.
The spherical, which brings Cockroach Labs’ whole funding to $633m, was led by Greenoaks with participation from Altimeter, BOND, Benchmark, Coatue, FirstMark, GV, Index Ventures, J.P. Morgan, Lone Pine Capital, Redpoint Ventures, and Tiger World.
The corporate intends to make use of the funds for ongoing investments within the improvement of their cloud database in addition to its continued buyer development and enlargement into new markets.
Led by Spencer Kimball, CEO, and co-founder, Cockroach Labs is a cloud-native distributed SQL database, with a set of elastically scalable and inherently resilient platforms: CockroachDB Self-hosted, CockroachDB Devoted, and CockroachDB Serverless. The corporate has partnerships with two of the most important cloud suppliers, AWS and Google, and is now Google Cloud Run’s first database associate.
With its cloud-native distributed SQL structure, the corporate is changing into the transactional database of alternative for innovators and class leaders together with Comcast, Devsisters, eBay, Legendary Video games, Nubank, Norfolk Southern, Starburst Knowledge, AllSaints, Bose, and Form3.
