Cupertino Authorities Recover Over $1,000 in Stolen Meat in Rare Theft Case

CUPERTINO, Calif. (Aiexpress) – Bringing home the bacon—literally and illegally.

A duo of burglars took nearly $1,000 worth of meat from a Cupertino Safeway on Homestead Road, in what the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office describes as a “rare” crime.

The exact date of the meat heist is unknown, but officials claim it occurred last week.

Authorities claimed a Safeway employee was able to describe the thieves and the automobile they fled in, and deputies were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle at its registration address.

Officials claimed the stolen meats included excellent ribeye and other top cuts.

Given that the meats were worth approximately $1,200, the stakes were too high to carry out the heist, as getting caught would result in a felony under California law.

However, investigators apprehended the suspects with the stolen goods and lodged them into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

“The only thing well-done here is the teamwork!” officials said regarding the theft.
