Kansas Shows Solidarity With Texas In Border Crisis Assistance

Aiexpress – The Kansas House took a bold step by passing a resolution asking Governor Laura Kelly to join Texas Governor Greg Abbott in dealing with the border issue. There are a lot of people crossing the U.S.-Mexico border right now, and several states are sending National Guard troops to help Texas handle the surge.

Before, Governor Kelly talked about how border security is a federal job and said that President Biden would decide if Kansas troops should be sent anywhere. But a new motion, which was passed with an 80–40 vote, calls what’s happening an “invasion” and asks Kansas to stand with Texas.

Many states think that the federal government is not doing enough to stop people from coming into the country illegally, and this measure shows that feeling. One supporter of Governor Abbott was Senator Mike Thompson, a Republican from Shawnee. He said that states need to step up when the federal government doesn’t do anything.

Texas has backing from more than just Kansas. It has been reported that the National Guard will send troops to the border this week from states like Indiana, Georgia, and Montana. This group effort shows how important it is to move quickly and how everyone wants to work together to secure the borders.

It’s clear that the border crisis is a national problem that needs a united reaction as more states join the states that are supporting Texas. When it comes to sticking with Texas through these tough times, Kansas’ resolution shows how serious the state is about taking on this problem.
