Gov. Parson to declare state assistance for border crisis in Texas

Missouri Governor Mike Parson is set to announce his commitment to fulfill his promise of providing additional assistance to Texas in securing the border with Mexico.

On Thursday, February 15, Gov. Parson had planned to hold a news briefing. However, he decided to postpone his announcement due to the shooting incident at the Chiefs Super Bowl parade and rally in Kansas City the day before.

The briefing has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 4:45 p.m. outside Parson’s office at the State Capitol.

Parson will outline the deployment of resources and personnel to support Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star mission.

Missouri National Guard Adjutant General Levon Cumpton, Department of Public Safety Director Sandy Karsten, and Missouri State Highway Patrol Colonel Eric Olson are set to join the governor for the announcement.
