Virginia Hospital Patient Steals Ambulance After Walking Out In Medical Gown, Iv In Arm: Police

Aiexpress – On Monday, authorities in Virginia reported that a hospital patient had walked out of his treatment and stolen an ambulance, all while still dressed in a hospital gown and with an IV in his arm.

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, the theft took place at approximately 9:30 p.m. outside Inova Fairfax Hospital. The suspect, who had been receiving treatment following a vehicle crash, was involved in the incident.

According to the police, the suspect, although still under medical care, managed to leave the treatment facility with an IV in his arm. He then proceeded to seize a private transport ambulance and absconded with it. The authorities even shared a photograph of the suspect captured inside the stolen ambulance.

Although the ambulance has been recovered, the suspect remains at large as the police continue their search.

32-year-old Rickey Lowe of Manassas has been identified as the man by the police, according to FOX5 Atlanta.

He is described as a black man weighing 300 pounds, with a shaved head and tattoos on both arms.

According to the station, police reported that Lowe had been involved in a crash as a passenger on U.S. Route 50 near Interstate 66 in Virginia earlier that day.

According to the local station, investigators recovered two firearms and narcotics from inside the vehicle involved in the crash. The police believe that the vehicle Lowe was in had been stolen from a home in Manassas.

The Fugitive Track and Apprehension squad detectives are currently searching for Lowe, according to police.

Officers in Prince William County reported potentially sighting Lowe around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, prompting an extensive search that involved the Fairfax Police Department helicopter, according to police.

Lowe could not be found despite the extensive search.

Authorities urged anyone with information about Lowe’s whereabouts to contact the police.
