‘Assholes come and go’: Trump is not the future, according to Sununu.

Aiexpress – The Republican Party’s future does not lie with Donald Trump, according to New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu.

“It won’t be his party indefinitely. Right? It simply will not. Sununu remarked at POLITICO’s Governors Summit that Donald Trump won’t be around forever.

Sununu also stated that he is “very optimistic” about America’s future.

“To put it another way, assholes come and go. But America is here to stay,” he explained.

The New Hampshire governor’s remarks come as Trump appears to be on track to capture his party’s presidential nominee for the third time. Polls show Trump with a comfortable advantage over Sununu’s preferred candidate, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, ahead of the primary on Saturday.

Sununu backed Haley late last year, giving her an advantage in New Hampshire’s first-in-the-nation primary. Though the GOP field has shrunk, Haley has yet to overcome Trump in any state primaries, and she is anticipated to lose in her own state.

During the interview, Sununu, a moderate and self-described “pro-choice” Republican, called an Alabama Supreme Court decision granting legal personhood to frozen embryos “scary.” Critics argue that the decision could have far-reaching ramifications for fertility therapy in the state. At least one Alabama hospital has already discontinued providing in vitro fertilization services.

“You want to make sure those services are accessible,” Sununu told reporters.

Additionally, he referred to a failed bipartisan border agreement that Republicans opposed as a “red herring,” asserting that such a bill is “not needed to secure the border” and that President Joe Biden could take unilateral action to lessen the flow of migrants crossing the southern border.
