Police: Firearm Loaded With Magazine Discovered In Stolen Car Driven By Wanted Maryland Woman In Arlington

Aiexpress – The trouble began at 11:35 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14, on the 500 block of 12 Street S., when Arlington officers were dispatched to assist Public Service Aid with a parking ticket involving a vehicle.

Police stated the vehicle had fraudulent tags and a hidden Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

During the investigation, a loaded pistol with an extended magazine was found on the driver’s floorboard of the vehicle.

As authorities were securing the firearm and conducting their investigation, Gianni Johnson, 27, of Temple Hills, MD, approached and was questioned about the vehicle being towed, police said. Johnson later identified herself as the operator.

Arlington County police established that both the vehicle and the pistol had been stolen from Maryland.

Johnson attempted to leave, resisted arrest, and then assaulted an officer by striking him in the face, according to authorities.

During an inventory search of the vehicle, investigators discovered many fraudulent IDs, various identification cards belonging to others, fraudulent credit cards and checks, as well as stolen items and drugs.

Johnson was accused of three charges. Possession of Fake Identification, Obstruction of Justice, Possession of Stolen Goods, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Altered VIN, Possession of a Firearm While Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Schedule I/II Substance, Assault on Police, and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. She was also determined to get out of Prince George’s County, Maryland. She was jailed without bond at the Arlington County Detention Facility.
