2 National Guard Members Killed In Helicopter Crash

Aiexpress – Two Mississippi National Guard military members were killed Friday after their Apache helicopter crashed during training, according to several reports.

According to NBC News, the helicopter crashed in the northeast of the state, near the little hamlet of Booneville.

The two service personnel killed in the crash were from the Army Aviation Support Facility in Tupelo. Officials stated that their families had been notified but did not specify when the victims’ names would be revealed.

ABC News quoted the Mississippi National Guard as saying that the AH-64 Apache crashed in Prentiss County at 2 p.m. local time.

Posting on X, Mississippi. Gov. Tate Reeves requested prayers for the families.

A week ago, two service members were hospitalized in Utah after their AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopter crashed near Salt Lake City. The Utah National Guard chopper crew was also participating in training.

Last April, the Army suspended its airborne forces for 24 hours following two tragic helicopter crashes, one of which killed three when an Apache chopper crashed in Alaska.
