Paramus Officer Pursues Different Suspects Involved In Same Mall Incident

Aiexpress – Two suspects who fled the Bergen Towne Center were pursued and apprehended by a Paramus police officer, according to authorities.

Two men and a woman fled from the Nordstrom Rack in a hurry, each going in a different direction, following the theft of Burberry and Givenchy clothing, as well as a Reaction wristwatch valued at nearly $667, according to Police Chief Robert Guidetti.

Officer Kevin Grady, one of the responders, chased after Yerbinson Zapata-Zus as he made his escape eastward on Route 4 near Forest Avenue, according to the chief.

Zapata-Zus fought back after Grady seized him, according to Guidetti, but he was quickly subdued.

Grady was driving him back to headquarters when Sgt. Keith Bland reported sighting a second suspect running on Forest Avenue near Belfi’s Towing, the chief stated.

Grady pulled up, got out, and pursued him down as well, he added.

Leanger Ramon Mendez and Zapata-Zus, both 25 years old from the Bronx, were taken to the police headquarters and charged with resisting arrest and offenses related to shoplifting.

The woman managed to escape.

Officer Sean Casey also responded to the incident.
