Identity of 2 Americans killed on yacht near Grenada revealed

Aiexpress – Authorities revealed the identities of the two Americans who tragically lost their lives on their sailboat. The victims, Kathy Brandel and Ralph Hendry, were a couple from Virginia. They had embarked on a winter cruise in the Eastern Caribbean after setting sail from Hampton, Virginia, to Antigua on their yacht, Simplicity. The couple was identified by their sailing club, shedding light on the devastating incident.

Authorities have not yet officially confirmed the identities, however, police in Grenada have stated that they have apprehended three men who escaped from prison on February 18 and are suspected of being involved in a potential murder.

Brandel’s son, Nick Buro, expressed his optimism to CNN on Sunday, hoping against hope that the couple would be found unharmed. However, the evidence found on Simplicity indicated the possibility of violent encounters.

According to Buro, the cabin of the boat was in disarray, with belongings scattered all over. This suggests that there was some kind of altercation on the boat, raising concerns for the safety of the individuals involved. Buro added that it is likely they sustained injuries during the incident.

“They were extremely cautious about safety at all times,” Buro stated. “Whether it was their actions or their surroundings, safety was always their utmost priority. Therefore, this unfortunate incident came as a complete surprise to them.”
