The younger brother of Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been sentenced to six months of probation in a case involving an assault on a woman.

Jackson Mahomes, 23, made his appearance on Thursday for his sentencing hearing through a video conference. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of battery, as per the online court records. After his sentence, Jackson Mahomes was taken into custody by the Johnson County Sheriff’s office. The office will assess his eligibility for work release.
The sentencing occurred more than two months after prosecutors dropped three felony counts for aggravated sexual violence stemming from allegations that Jackson Mahomes grabbed a woman by the neck and kissed her against her will at an Overland Park, Kansas, restaurant in February 2023. According to a court filing, the woman’s lack of cooperation led to the dismissal of the more serious allegations.
According to investigators, Jackson Mahomes is accused of pushing a waiter who attempted to enter a room where he was with a woman. This incident has resulted in a misdemeanor battery charge against him.
The felony charges were dropped by prosecutors after the restaurant owner, who was the accuser, declined to testify in the case. She experienced death threats, harassment, and vandalism targeting her restaurant following the charges. As a result, she made the decision to close the restaurant in August.
Patrick Mahomes Sr., the father of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was arrested in Texas on February 3 for allegedly driving while intoxicated. This incident adds to the recent brushes with the law involving the Mahomes family, which includes Jackson Mahomes.
Patrick Mahomes won his third Super Bowl championship ring in February, leading the Chiefs to a 25-22 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
