Forecasters Predict Snowfall in Parts of Maryland and Virginia

Forecasters predict that a fresh storm is on its way to the DMV region, potentially bringing another round of winter weather.

According to a recent alert from the National Weather Service, the rain that is currently moving through the region has the potential to change into snow in certain areas. During squalls, it is expected that one to three inches of snow may accumulate per hour.

Meteorologists in the area have confirmed the occurrence of inclement weather, which included reports of small hail.

The weather forecast predicts that rain will persist in the region on Saturday. However, there is a chance of clearing up and having partly sunny skies on Sunday afternoon. It is important to note that a Coastal Flood Warning is still in effect.

The wind gusts are forecasted to exceed 50 mph.

Accuweather Senior Meteorologist Dave Dombek mentioned that there is a possibility for a few of the stronger squalls to generate thunder and lightning, or even thundersnow.
