Deranged New York City Subway Rider Shot With Own Gun Will Be Charged If He Survives — As Cops Hunt For Woman Who Stabbed Him

The insane fare-beater who shot himself in the head on a rush-hour Brooklyn train last week may face criminal charges if he survives, authorities said Thursday.

Dajuan Robinson, 36, is still in critical but stable condition at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, breathing through a tube, according to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny.

If Robinson survives, police will prosecute him for criminal possession of a weapon, Kenny said.

Robinson was shot four times, twice in the head, once in the chest, and once in the stomach, until 32-year-old father-of-two Younece Obuad pulled the weapon away from him during the horrifying March 14 event on an A train, according to police and video.

Police are still looking for a woman who was with Obuad and stabbed Robinson in the back during the incident, stating Thursday that they only knew her by her nickname, “Unique.”

The Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office will determine whether to charge her after officers identify her. According to a DA spokesman, Obuad is not facing prosecution since he appears to have acted in self-defense.

The incident began after Robinson accused Obuad and the woman he was with of being migrants.

“He thinks we’re migrants,” the woman told Obuad shortly before the two men fought, according to police.

According to Kenny, as the two grappled, she took a sharp instrument from her suitcase and stabbed Robinson twice in the back.

“You stabbed me?” According to the bystander video, Robinson spoke after being stabbed as blood leaked through his shirt.

Oh, you stabbed me? Robinson says angrily, “I’ll lock you up when you get off!”

“You did stab me, right? You stabbed me, right? Did you stab me? Robinson continues to yell at them, taking a revolver from his jacket and charging toward the two.

Security footage captured the disturbed rider entering the subway system through an emergency exit door, pulling out a revolver as he and Obuad wrestled, sending terrified straphangers running for cover during evening rush hour.

According to authorities, Obuad grabbed Robinson’s gun and opened fire as the train approached the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station.

“The investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing, but at this time, evidence of self-defense prevents us from filing any criminal charges against the shooter,” Oren Yaniv, a spokesperson for the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office, said in an e-mailed statement last week.
