Police Shoot Man At Wells Fargo After He Claims To Have Explosives, Authorities Say

Law enforcement officials have reported that an incident took place at a Wells Fargo bank in Fullerton on Tuesday evening. The ordeal began when a man allegedly attempted to rob the bank and threatened witnesses with what appeared to be an “explosive device.” The situation came to a close when police shot the individual outside the bank’s doors.

The Fullerton Police Department responded to reports of a potential bank robbery on West Bastanchury Road around 5:09 p.m. They promptly began evacuating employees, ensuring their safety.

The Orange County sheriff’s bomb squad promptly arrived at the scene.

According to the department, witnesses reported that the suspect showed what looked like an explosive device while inside the bank. As the suspect left the bank, an officer-involved shooting took place.

Kristy Wells, the police spokesperson, has chosen not to disclose any further information regarding the incident due to an ongoing investigation.

The fate of the suspect remains uncertain, but according to CBS News, the unnamed individual passed away at the scene.

According to KTLA, law enforcement shot the suspect as he exited the bank. Following this, officers deployed a robot and drone to examine the objects near the motionless suspect.

According to the Police Department, there were no injuries reported among the employees or officers.
