A 17-year-old male from Knightdale, North Carolina is currently facing a murder charge in relation to the devastating killing of a 40-year-old mother of three that took place towards the end of last year.
The event happened on November 8, 2023, around 7:30 p.m., when the Knightdale Police Department was called to a home on Twain Town Drive for a report of gunfire. When they got there, Shinaka Ocean Earth had been shot while sitting on her front porch, and the house had been hit by several bullets. Even though the first responders tried to save her, Earth was declared dead at the scene.
The Chief of Police in Knightdale, Lawrence Capps, called the probe “complex,” stressing the need for a methodical and thorough approach from the start.
As of March 20, the cops reported an important development that pointed to a breakthrough in the case. The teenager was named as the main suspect by the police, who then arrested him and put him in a youth detention center under a secured custody order. He has been charged with one count of murder, but the investigation is still going on. The police are busy following up on leads and looking into the involvement of any other suspects.
