A man is facing assault charges following reports from multiple women who were unexpectedly punched in the face in New York City.
Skiboky Stora, a 40-year-old individual, was taken into custody on Wednesday after engaging in an “unprovoked” assault on a young woman in Manhattan. The victim, Halley Kate, an influencer, promptly shared the incident with her 1.2 million followers on TikTok.
The NYPD acknowledged a viral video circulating on social media that shows an unprovoked attack where a woman was randomly assaulted.
The person responsible for the crime has been apprehended and is facing charges. This individual has a history of repeat offenses and a lengthy criminal record.
The man responsible for these attacks was identified by your NYPD detectives, who had previously arrested him for similar crimes. Unfortunately, he was released back onto our streets.
“This marks his third arrest in the past six months, highlighting a concerning pattern of behavior. Our dedicated officers will persist in their unwavering commitment to apprehending dangerous criminals, prioritizing the security of our communities.”
The individual who was arrested and charged has been confirmed by the NYPD as Mr. Stora, according to The Independent.
The department stated that the incident took place on Monday at approximately 10:20 am. Ms. Kate, a 23-year-old, was walking near West 16th Street and 7th Avenue at the time.
The victim was struck on the head by an unidentified person, causing her to fall to the ground and sustain injuries to the left side of her face. She received medical treatment at a nearby facility as part of an ongoing investigation.
On Wednesday, March 27, Mr. Stora, a resident of Brooklyn, New York, was arrested and charged.
Ms. Kate later mentioned that she filed a police report and was informed by officials that it had a “match” with another police report that described a similar incident.
