Lee Greenwood Defends ‘god Bless The Usa’ Bible Sales Against Critics, Accusing Them Of Being ‘trump Haters’

Country musician Lee Greenwood is defending the “God Bless the USA” Bibles he’s selling alongside former President Donald Trump, who will go on trial next month for paying hush money to an adult film star.

Trump posted a video on his Truth Social platform earlier this week to promote the Bibles he is selling with Greenwood, referring to the Bible as his “favorite book.” In the days since, Trump has faced criticism for the deal, with many referring to his numerous criminal arrests and history of promoting things ranging from steaks to sneakers.

Greenwood responded to the criticism in a Thursday interview with Newsmax’s Bianca de la Garza.

“I believe it is just from Trump haters. I don’t believe the left hates religion.” It’s just Trump haters,” Greenwood explained. “And we’ve been promoting this Bible for over three years, so the president has also asked the nation to pray and use that particular Bible.”

“I mean, he could have used any Bible at all, but because it has the documents of our Founding Fathers, I think that makes it unique,” he said.

Greenwood went on to remark that he was “proud of the president for stepping forward and saying that he believes in God, he’s a Christian, and this nation still should be praying for our country.”

When advertising the $60 Bible, Trump encouraged Americans to pray more.

“Religion and Christianity are the most significant things missing from this country. “And I genuinely believe that we need to bring them back, and we must do so quickly,” Trump stated in a video posted on Truth Social. “I believe this is one of the most serious issues we face. That is why our country is going crazy. “Our country has lost its religion.”

The website offering the Bibles stated that they are “easy-to-read, large print” and will be “perfect to take to church, a bible study, work, travel, etc.” The King James Bible contains lyrics from Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA,” as well as the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Earlier this week, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) criticized Trump’s partnership and encouraged him to read the Bible’s teachings on adultery. The co-hosts of ABC’s “The View” also criticized Trump for selling the Bibles, calling it “pandering.”
