Donald Trump Criticized for Requesting Funds Despite Claiming to Have Hundreds of Millions in Cash: ‘Embarrassing’

Donald Trump faced criticism for requesting financial support from his MAGA supporters, even as he boasted about his vast wealth of hundreds of millions of dollars in the aftermath of his civil fraud trial in New York.

On Friday, March 29, political pundit Ron Filipkowski shared a video on X (formerly known as Twitter) of the embattled ex-president requesting the funds.

“Please consider lending a helping hand,” urged Trump in the brief video, proposing contributions of $5, $10, $25, and $100. “No matter the amount, every contribution counts. Rest assured, we will utilize the funds effectively to achieve victory.”

The comments section was inundated with insults targeting the contentious politician. One user humorously remarked, “It’s quite amusing to see a billionaire begging for money while peddling inexpensive bibles and shoes. Pathetic, to say the least.”

Another individual chimed in, highlighting the intriguing fact that his followers seem to be oblivious to this.

“This is the man that people believe will restore greatness to America. It’s quite bizarre. One critic expressed their strong disapproval, calling him a s– offending scrounger. Another critic commented on his lack of shame, stating that it’s pathetic how many lunatics feel the need to donate to a lying corrupt billionaire.”

“It’s incredibly embarrassing to witness,” expressed one individual, while another added, “He has completely tarnished his own image.”

As previously reported by OK!, the 77-year-old was found liable for fraud after misrepresenting the worth of Mar-a-Lago in financial documents. After the trial, where Trump maintained his innocence, he was ordered to pay over $350 million.

He ended up paying a total of $454 million, including interest.

In a scathing online tirade, President Trump publicly criticized Judge Arthur F. Engoron for his recent ruling.

In a statement made on Truth Social, Trump confidently asserted, “I currently possess nearly five hundred million dollars in cash, thanks to my hard work, talent, and some stroke of luck. I had planned to utilize a significant portion of this sum for my presidential campaign.” He further criticized the political judge who frequently had his decisions overturned, referring to them as a “political hack.” Trump claimed that this judge, driven by a desire to strip him of his resources, came up with an astonishing figure of approximately $454,000,000, which also included exorbitant interest charges. Trump maintained his innocence, stating that he had not done anything wrong in this rigged and corrupt case.

“I have done nothing wrong except for winning an election in 2016 that I wasn’t expected to win. I did even better in 2020, and now I am leading, by a large margin, in 2024,” he asserted. “This is communism in America!”
