Donald Trump Allies Aims To Raise $33 Million At Florida Fundraiser

The president’s reelection campaign started March with a substantial $71 million cash on hand, which was more than double the amount the Trump campaign had at the beginning of the month. When factoring in funds from the Democratic National Committee and affiliated joint fundraising committees, the Biden war chest stood at an impressive $155 million.

By contrast, the Trump campaign, along with the Republican National Committee and the political action committees backing Trump, began the month with slightly over $74 million in cash on hand.

According to representatives from the Trump campaign, they acknowledge that they may not be able to reach the same fundraising levels as Mr. Biden and the Democrats. However, they proudly shared that they have been able to raise more than $1 million per day over the past six days. Additionally, their online fundraising efforts have resulted in over $10.6 million in small-dollar donations just last week.

The March fundraising numbers for both parties cannot be independently confirmed until next month when updated federal campaign finance reports are released.

Guests invited to Trump’s upcoming Florida fundraiser are being requested to contribute anywhere from $250,000 to $814,000 per person. Out of this amount, $6,600 will directly support the Trump campaign, while the next $5,000 will be allocated to the Save America PAC, which is within the legal limits for each. The remaining funds will be distributed to the RNC and state parties nationwide.

The Trump 47 Committee, a fundraising committee, has found an unconventional method of channeling funds to the Save America PAC. This approach introduces a novel way for GOP donors to potentially contribute to covering a fraction of Trump’s substantial legal expenses, which have already exceeded $10 million this year.

Donors have the option to request a different allocation for their donation, according to the dinner invitation’s fine print. The invitation includes speakers such as Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, and Vivek Ramaswamy.

“The fundraising efforts have received an incredible response, with a staggering $33 million raised thus far,” shared John Paulson, a hedge fund billionaire and the host of the fundraiser, in a statement to CBS News. “A wide range of donors have shown immense support, representing a diverse spectrum. While the dinner itself is an intimate gathering, we are nearing our capacity.”

The fundraiser boasts an impressive list of over three dozen co-chairs, featuring prominent figures such as aerospace entrepreneur Robert Bigelow, New York Jets owner and former U.S. ambassador to the U.K., Woody Johnson, casino moguls Steve Wynn and Phil Ruffin, and former Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.

When Trump became the presumptive GOP nominee for president earlier this month, he was given permission to begin fundraising alongside the RNC. He wasted no time in reshaping the committee’s leadership, appointing Michael Whatley, former chair of the North Carolina Republican Party, and Lara Trump, his daughter-in-law, to oversee the party. As a result, numerous employees were laid off, and prospective candidates are now being questioned about their stance on the legitimacy of the 2020 election.

Chris LaCivita and James Blair, who are both part of Trump’s campaign team, will continue to work with the Republican National Committee (RNC) while also maintaining their roles within the Trump campaign.
