Biden Dismisses Railroad Inspector General Amid Accusations Of A Hostile Work Environment

President Biden took decisive action on Friday by terminating a long-standing official from the US Railroad Retirement Board. An investigation revealed that the individual had fostered a toxic work environment within the federal agency.

At least two White House officials have faced similar allegations, but these claims have not been thoroughly investigated, and they continue to hold their positions.

President Biden, 81, has informed House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) about his decision to dismiss US Railroad Retirement Board Inspector General Martin Dickman for cause, as reported by multiple sources.

In January 2023, the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency launched an investigation into allegations that Dickman had fostered a hostile work environment.

According to the Hill, a probe has determined that Dickman, a long-time employee of the RRB since 1994, was found to have engaged in abusive treatment of employees, used inappropriate language, including slurs, and belittled staffers.

According to the outlet, Dickman is currently on administrative leave and is set to be officially terminated on April 28.

Nearly a dozen current and former colleagues of Anthony Bernal, the top aide to first lady Jill Biden, have revealed to The Post that he has engaged in bullying and verbal sexual harassment towards his colleagues for over a decade.

According to Zients, the president and first lady hold complete trust in Anthony’s character, and so do I. The White House staff, who are fans of Anthony, can attest to his graciousness and resilience. He consistently upholds the highest standards and has a genuine dedication to public service. Zients expressed disappointment in the baseless attacks against Anthony, especially since they come from unidentified sources.

Bernal vehemently denied the allegations made in The Post’s story, stating, “These baseless accusations are completely false.”

Dr. Rahul Gupta, Biden’s “drug czar,” has faced allegations of creating a “toxic” work environment.

A former staffer also expressed criticism of Gupta, stating that he failed to provide adequate support and rarely listened to his aides who were recovering from substance use disorders while working in his White House office.

On his first day in the White House, Biden made it clear to political appointees that he has zero tolerance for disrespect and belittling behavior towards others. In a stern message, he warned them that if he were to hear of any mistreatment or condescension towards colleagues, he would not hesitate to immediately terminate their employment. Biden emphasizes the importance of treating others with respect and dignity in his administration.

The White House did not provide a comment in response to The Post’s request.
