According to reports, this week in Washington, DC, authorities arrested a 12-year-old girl and two 13-year-olds for a violent 2023 attack on a disabled man in which they chased him down an alley and crushed him to death.
According to reports, cameras captured the three teenage girls carrying out the “horrific” middle-of-the-night attack murder of Reggie Brown on October 17.
The disturbing footage shows a gang of five females following the crippled 64-year-old into an alley and tearing him from a chain link fence as he desperately sought to flee.
They slammed his head on the concrete before pulling his pants down to his ankles and beating him with his own belt, investigators testified in court Friday, according to the Washington Post.
The disturbed group apparently laughed as Brown began bleeding from his head, with one of the ladies exclaiming, “He’s leaking!”
Metro Police discovered Brown dead on the street shortly before 1 a.m., with terrible injuries consistent with assault. An autopsy revealed that he died as a result of blunt-force injuries.
Brown, according to investigators, was crippled and suffered from mental illness. He also had a metal plate in his head and only two fingers on both hands.
“My uncle really didn’t deserve this,” a niece of Brown told News4.
“He was well-known in our town for many years, so for this to occur where he had lived for 64 years is absurd.” “They must be held accountable!”
Detective Harry Singleton testified that the incident began with a man in his early twenties snatching Brown’s collar and pushing him against a brick wall.
The girls happened to be strolling by at the time, and one of them asked the man, “Can I fight him?” He said, “Yes.”
According to authorities, the 12-year-old girl pulled Brown from the fence and used his belt against him, all while filming the gruesome beatdown on her cellphone.
Investigators highlighted that the girls did not know the man they killed, but they are still investigating if the stranger who began the fight did.
One of the females told police that the stranger, who allegedly threatened them with a revolver in his belt, forced two of the attackers to beat Brown even though they did not want to.
Up until Thursday, when a court order led to the arrest of one of the 13-year-old girls, the accused murderers were still at large.
That night, around 4 a.m., the 12-year-old girl was shot in her apartment, which was about a half-mile away from where Brown died from his injuries.
She was shot in the leg and brought to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have not said whether the shooting originated inside or outside the flat, but neighbors told News4 that they saw two young individuals flee through a broken window and into an alley.
Later that day, authorities apprehended the pre-teen and the third girl.
Despite having no prior arrests, all three of them have a history of truancy. According to the judge, one of the youngsters missed every day of class in 2024.
The court is trying all three as juveniles on charges of second-degree murder.
