Body of Missing Woman Discovered in Arizona Desert Following Extensive Search Efforts

On Friday, Arizona police discovered the body of a woman who had been missing in the Arizona desert for almost a month.

The La Paz County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the discovery of Amanda Nenigar, 27, on Facebook on Saturday.

The statement revealed Amanda Nenigar’s death late Friday evening. The statement alerted the family and thanked the public for their support in locating Amanda. We urge that you respect the family during this time and refrain from spreading rumors and assumptions.”

On February 28, authorities discovered her dead 1.5 miles from where her car had been abandoned, according to the AZ Family.

Nenigar called 911 to report that her car had become stuck in a ditch before anyone reported her missing. She also gave the authorities her coordinates and tried to explain the surroundings. Her call was routed to California police rather than Arizona officials, and the officer mistakenly instructed personnel to seek Amanda about 30 to 40 miles away from where she was stuck.

On February 29, Nenigar went missing.

When Arizona authorities got involved, they found her automobile trapped on a boulder in the desert outside Cibola, Arizona, on March 7.

Her sister, Marissa Nenigar, expressed her dissatisfaction with how the emergency services responded to her sister’s call.

“She gave them her coordinates, California, and I don’t know why they didn’t transfer her to dispatch in Arizona,” she went on to say. “She provided them with her specific position, so someone could have gone to get her. “They could have found her.”

Nenigar’s family revealed the location of her body in a statement and thanked everyone who assisted in finding her. “We are heartbroken and will miss her deeply. Please respect our family’s privacy while we mourn Amanda’s passing and prepare for the days ahead.”
