Pop Star Lizzo Lashes Out After Criticism From Dancer Lawsuit: ‘i Quit’

Pop star Lizzo expressed her frustration on social media after receiving backlash regarding lawsuits filed by her former employees. These individuals accused the artist of creating a hostile work environment. Lizzo stated that she is tired of “being dragged” and shared her thoughts online.

“I’ve reached a point where I can no longer tolerate being constantly criticized and controlled by those around me, both in my personal life and on the internet,” expressed the “Juice” singer in a recent Instagram post. “My ultimate goal is to create music that brings joy to people, while also making a positive impact on the world.”

“I’m beginning to feel as though the world doesn’t welcome me,” she expressed. “I’m constantly facing falsehoods being spread about me for attention and views… always being made the subject of jokes solely based on my appearance… people who don’t know me tearing apart my character and disrespecting my reputation,” she lamented.

Lizzo, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, expressed her frustration with the music industry, stating that she would even consider quitting. She candidly remarked, “I didn’t sign up for this sh–.”

Just two days after her performance at a multimillion-dollar fundraiser hosted by President Biden, she took to social media to share her emotions. However, an attorney representing the former backup dancers who had filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against her in August was quick to criticize her performance.

Attorney Ron Zambrano expressed his disappointment with the decision to have Lizzo as the headline performer for this event, especially in light of the serious allegations against her. He stated, “It’s shameful that Lizzo would be chosen to headline an event like this amid such egregious allegations.” This statement was made to NewsNation, which is also owned by Nexstar Media Group, the parent company of The Hill.

He expressed his disapproval of Lizzo representing anyone due to her reprehensible behavior, stating that it is a terrible look.

The former dancers, Arianna Davis, Noelle Rodriguez, and Crystal Williams, filed a lawsuit against Lizzo, her production company, and another employee, alleging that they were subjected to a hostile and abusive work environment, which made their working conditions unbearable.

Lizzo’s attorneys have asserted that the dancers were terminated for their inappropriate behavior. In October, Lizzo herself filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit.

According to Rolling Stone, an October filing states that the plaintiffs missed flights, arrived late and hungover to rehearsals, and performed drunk on stage. They also engaged in consensual sexual relationships with male crew members during the tour. Additionally, the plaintiffs exhibited a rapid decline in the quality of their dancing and professionalism. Finally, they conspired to make and distribute an unauthorized recording of a creative meeting with Lizzo and the dance cast.
