Donald Trump’s Ex-spokesperson Hope Hicks Expected To Testify In Hush Money Trial: Sources

Multiple sources familiar with the matter have informed ABC News that Hope Hicks, the former spokesperson for Donald Trump, is anticipated to testify for the prosecution in the upcoming criminal hush money trial of the former president in New York. The trial is set to commence later this month.

Before TBefore Trump faced prosecution for falsifying business records related to a $130,000 hush payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels, Hicks had a conversation with the Manhattan district attorney’s office in March 2023. Trump has denied all charges and pleaded not guilty.

When contacted by ABC News, Hicks declined to cThe Manhattan District Attorney’s Office refrained from commenting on potential witnesses.

Hicks, Trump’s 2016 campaign press secretary, spoke with Trump over the phone in the weeks leading up to the 2016 election as aides and advisers attempted to keep long-denied accusations of his affair with Daniels from becoming public, according to court filings from a federal inquiry.

Hicks held several high-ranking positions in the Trump administration. She no longer works for Trump.

In April of last year, Trump entered a plea of not guilty to a 34-count indictment. The charges stemmed from allegations of falsifying business records related to a hush money payment made by his former attorney, Michael Cohen, to Daniels shortly before the 2016 presidential election.

The jury selection for the trial is set to begin on April 15 in New York City.
