Donald Trump Supporters Told He’s Suspending His Campaign

In a fundraising email sent on Monday, supporters of Donald Trump were informed that he will be concluding his presidential campaign.

According to posts from Axios’ Andrew Slender and The New York Times’ Nick Corasaniti on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, an email was sent out to the former president’s supporters with the subject line “I’m suspending my campaign” on Monday.

The content of the email, however, indicated that it was just a prank for April Fools’ Day, rather than a real suspension of his presidential campaign.

The email reads, “Just kidding – Happy April Fools Day!”

In the upcoming November presidential election, President Donald Trump will go head to head with President Joe Biden. Both candidates have successfully secured their party’s presidential nominations by winning enough delegates in their respective primaries.

According to various polls, the race between the candidates is incredibly close, with some even indicating that Trump has a slight advantage. However, it is anticipated that he will encounter a challenging summer, as he may potentially face multiple criminal trials. One of these trials is scheduled to commence in April, just prior to the election.

The Trump Save America Joint Fundraising Committee, a PAC that supports the former president’s campaign, also shared a similar message on WinRed, a Republican fundraising website.

“Did you honestly believe that I would halt my campaign? Happy April Fools Day! I am unwavering in my dedication to the American people. I refuse to back down!” declares the page, urging readers to contribute a minimum of $5 to Trump’s campaign.

The Trump campaign has refrained from making any public statements regarding the fundraising email.

As Biden continues to outpace Trump in fundraising, some Republicans are raising concerns about the Trump campaign’s financial situation. This concern is highlighted by the recent email received by supporters.

According to data from the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Biden amassed a formidable campaign war chest of nearly $127 million by the end of February to go head-to-head against Trump. Impressively, he still had around $71 million in cash on hand. In a recent New York City fundraiser, Biden managed to raise an additional $25 million. In contrast, Trump raised approximately $99 million during the same period, with roughly $33.5 million in cash available.

After posting a separate holiday message for Easter on his social media platform Truth Social, he followed up with this announcement.

“HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE, EVEN THE UNETHICAL AND CORRUPT PROSECUTORS AND JUDGES WHO ARE ACTIVELY TRYING TO UNDERMINE THE 2024 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION AND IMPRISON ME. I ALSO EXTEND MY GREETINGS TO THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHOM I STRONGLY DISLIKE, AS THEY SEEK TO DESTROY OUR COUNTRY, WHICH IS CURRENTLY FACING CHALLENGES,” he expressed.
