Speaker Johnson Raises Doubts About President Biden’s Understanding Of The Trans Visibility Day Proclamation That He Signed

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., questions if President Biden really knew what he was doing when he issued a proclamation designating March 31, the same day as Easter this year, as Transgender Day of Visibility.

When challenged about Johnson’s assertion on X that Biden, a reported devout Catholic, had “betrayed” Easter beliefs, the president chastised the speaker for being “thoroughly uninformed” before retorting, “I didn’t do that.”

The presidential decree states, “I, Joseph R. Biden Jr., do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility.”

Johnson brought out the discrepancy in an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Monday, implying that the debate is yet another indicator of concerns about the president’s mental acuity.

“Well, that’s his signature on the document.””That is why we posted it,” he stated on “Hannity.” “The evidence speaks for itself, as we used to say in the courtroom.”

“It’s highly possible that he doesn’t even know what he’s signing,” he said. “That might be even more alarming.”

The speaker stated that the declaration event demonstrates that the next election is a clash between two visions for America.

“This radical, leftist, progressive vision for the country is not who we are as Americans, and I think most of the country agrees with us. And I think that’s why we’re going to have a very successful election in November,” added Mr. Trump.

According to the Michigan Advance, Transgender Michigan executive director Rachel Crandall Crocker founded Transgender Day of Visibility in 2009 and held a commemorative ceremony in Lansing to celebrate the organization’s 15th anniversary.

In a recent response to Fox News Digital, a White House official stated that Biden did not designate March 31 as Transgender Day of Visibility and that the White House has previously made the same proclamation on the last day of the third month.

However, in addition to Johnson, other prominent Republicans attacked the proclamation’s timing on one of the holiest days on the Christian calendar, with the Trump campaign demanding a White House apology “to the millions of Catholics and Christians across America.”

“[They] believe [that day] is for one celebration only—the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated.

In response to Biden’s announcement on X, Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, remarked, “Squatting rights… on Christianity’s most sacred day.”
