Trump Suggests Renaming Election Day As ‘christian Visibility Day’ Following Criticism Over Transgender Holiday

Former President Trump announced on Tuesday that he would designate Election Day as “Christian Visibility Day.” This decision came after the White House released a proclamation acknowledging Transgender Day of Visibility, which happened to fall on Easter this year.

President Biden issued a proclamation on Friday acknowledging Transgender Day of Visibility, a day dedicated to recognizing and honoring the transgender and nonbinary community.

Conservatives were unhappy with his proclamation as it coincided with Easter, a significant holiday for them. Transgender Day of Visibility has been celebrated annually on March 31 since 2009, but this year it happened to fall on Easter Sunday.

“What on earth was Biden thinking when he announced Easter Sunday as Trans Visibility Day?” Trump questioned, provoking a chorus of disapproval from the audience at the Green Bay rally.

“Wow, the lack of respect towards Christians is just appalling. Instead of calling it Nov. 5, why not rename it Christian Visibility Day? I envision a day where Christians come together in unprecedented numbers and make their presence known like never before,” passionately stated Trump.

During the rally, the former president made a strong declaration, stating that one of his first actions as president would be to sign an executive order. This order would aim to cut federal funding for any school that promotes critical race theory, transgender issues, or any other content that he deems inappropriate for our children. The former president expressed his concern about the impact of such teachings on our society and the well-being of our children.

Trump’s campaign and other Republicans were furious with Biden’s proclamation, arguing that the observant Catholic should issue an apology.

White House spokesperson Andrew Bates responded to the criticism, stating that President Biden, as a Christian who values Easter as a time for family, is committed to uniting people and upholding the dignity and freedoms of every American.

“It is unfortunate but not unexpected that politicians are attempting to divide and undermine our nation with their cruel, hateful, and dishonest rhetoric. President Biden, on the other hand, will never exploit his faith for political gain or personal profit.”

The Republican party has been particularly focused on social culture war topics, such as transgender-related issues, specifically the participation of transgender women in women’s sports. The rhetoric surrounding these issues has been a prominent aspect of their discourse.

During his presidency, Trump has shown a consistent interest in transgender-related matters. In fact, he even went so far as to articulate a series of policies that he would implement if elected, one of which involved restricting transgender minors’ access to gender-affirming care.
