Michelle Obama Encourages Voting With Beyoncé’s ‘cowboy Carter’ Album

Michelle Obama praised Beyoncé’s new album in an Instagram post, encouraging voters to “stand up for what we believe in” at the polls this year.

Beyoncé, who has backed both former President Obama and current President Biden, released her new country-themed album “Cowboy Carter” on Friday.

“With Cowboy Carter, you have changed the game once more by redefining a music genre and transforming our culture.” “I am so proud of you,” the former First Lady posted on Instagram.

“Cowboy Carter reminds us that, despite everything we’ve gone through to be heard, seen, and recognized, we can still dance, sing, and be ourselves without apology. This record reminds us that we all have power. Our history, joy, and votes have power, and we can all use our unique gifts and talents to make our voices heard on the topics that are most important to us.

“Together, we can stand up for what we believe in, and we must do that at the ballot box this year,” he said. “The issues that matter most to us are on the ballots across the country, from equal pay and racial justice to reproductive healthcare and climate change. And like Queen Bey says at the end of Ya Ya, we must “keep the faith” and “vote!”

Beyoncé revealed on Instagram that “this album has been over five years in the making” and was inspired by an incident when she did not feel welcome.

“However, because of that experience, I delved deeper into the history of country music and examined our extensive musical collection. It’s heartening to see how music can bring people together all around the world while also magnifying the voices of those who have dedicated their lives to educating others about our musical past.”
