Donald Trump Suggests Biden Was ‘higher Than A Kite’ On Cocaine During State Of The Union

Donald Trump has made the outrageous claim that President Joe Biden was on drugs when he delivered his barnstorming State of the Union speech last month, without presenting any proof to back up his claim.

The Republican presidential contender, who will face his successor in a repeat of the 2020 election fight in November, made the casual remark regarding the president’s performance at his March 7 address during an appearance on conservative radio show host Hugh Hewitt’s show on Thursday.

When asked about his potential competitor, Mr. Trump replied, “I think what happened is, you know, the white stuff that they happened to find, which happened to be cocaine in the White House. I don’t know; I think something’s going on there.

“I watched his State of the Union address, and he was engaging from the beginning. By the end, he was quickly fading. There’s something going on there.

He went on to say, “I want to discuss. At the very least, I think drug testing should be a part of our debates. I want to take a drug test.”

When asked if he was implying that Mr. Biden took cocaine, Mr. Trump responded, “I don’t know what he’s using, but that was not; hey, he was higher than a kite.

“But he’s obviously being aided in some way, because most of the time he appears to be going to sleep. All of a sudden, he walked up there and did an inadequate job. But he was all messed up.”

The Independent contacted Mr. Biden’s campaign for a comment.

Ammar Moussa, the president’s director of rapid response, previously told Forbes that Mr. Trump’s remark constituted “a bizarre outburst.”.

The spokesperson suggested that voters in the United States should be “more concerned with Trump’s promise to deport millions of people, rip children away from their families, and his deranged obsession to lie about losing the last election and undermine our democracy.”.

He also stated that Mr. Trump’s campaign is “spiraling because their candidate’s toxic agenda continues to be a loser among voters.”

The two adversaries have been at pains to accuse each other of being too old and muddled to run for government again, with Mr. Trump, 77, claiming that Mr. Biden, 81, is battling senility and physical weakness while also organizing several legal suits against him.

Meanwhile, the president went a long way toward dispelling the “Sleepy Joe” stereotype and any suggestion that he is past his prime with his fiery performance at the State of the Union, in which he argued passionately that his age is an asset, not a disadvantage, sparred with Republicans in the audience, and laid into Mr. Trump’s record in an acidic style.

However, social media widely mocked Alabama Senator Katie Britt’s dramatic response from behind her home table, forcing her to retract her claim that the anecdote was accurate.
