Police Search For 25-year-old Man Following Deadly Stabbing Of Woman In Bradford

Police are currently on the lookout for a 25-year-old man following the tragic stabbing of a woman in Bradford city centre. The incident occurred while she was pushing her baby in a pram.

West Yorkshire police are urging the public to promptly report any sightings of Habibur Masum, a resident of the Oldham area.

The 27-year-old woman, who has yet to be formally identified, was stabbed at 3.20 p.m. on Saturday in Bradford’s Westgate neighborhood, according to police. Police carried her to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Her child, who was in a pram during the incident, was not harmed. Investigators suspect the woman and the attacker know one another.

DCI Stacey Atkinson stated: “We recognize that the death of a young woman in such tragic circumstances has sparked widespread concern in the community. Residents should expect a large police presence in Bradford as we perform additional investigations and reassurance patrols.

“We have had significant resources following up on a number of lines of inquiry to locate Habibur Masum, but at this time his whereabouts are unknown.”

Police described Masum as an Asian male with a thin physique. CCTV captured him wearing a padded jacket with three wide horizontal lines of grey, white, and black, light blue or grey tracksuit pants with a small black insignia on the left pocket, and maroon trainers. A witness also reported seeing him in a gray hoodie.

According to Atkinson, a knife was found at the murder scene. However, it is unclear if Habibur Masum is currently armed. Atkinson advises against approaching him and advises the public to call 999 immediately if they spot him. Atkinson also urges anyone with information about Masum’s movements or whereabouts since 3.20pm on Saturday to contact the police urgently.

If you have any current sightings of Masum, please immediately report them to West Yorkshire police by dialing 999. For any other information that may be helpful to the ongoing investigation, you can report it through Live Chat online or by calling 101 and quoting log 1071 of 6 April.
