Scam Victims Seek To Reclaim Donated Funds From Rudy Giuliani’s Legal Fund

A large donation to Rudy Giuliani’s legal fund is at risk of being reclaimed after the guy who contributed it was suspected of being involved in a skin care fraud. Matthew Martorano donated $100,000 to Giuliani’s defense fund in September, which was established to assist the former New York City mayor in paying his legal bills after he was accused in Georgia alongside former President Donald Trump of allegedly attempting to overturn the 2020 election. CNBC claimed that the donation accounts for approximately 13% of the fund’s gains to date. However, a new lawsuit filed this week on behalf of clients who think Martorano deceived them seeks to “unwind” the donation, claiming that it rightly belongs to the victims. The plan was detailed in a class-action lawsuit, which claimed that Martorano and his wife, Kathryn, founded a company that misled customers into signing up for a “free trial” of skincare goods before fraudulently charging their bank accounts. According to Giuliani spokesman Ted Goodman, “This is a lawsuit unrelated to us.”
