The Westfield Garden State Plaza in New Jersey saw the Paramus Police Department apprehend three individuals from New York City for engaging in organized retail theft.
According to authorities, the group employed various tactics to target stores and employees during a crime spree that took place on April 12 between 8 p.m. and 9:20 p.m.
The suspects were apprehended by officers and mall security, who successfully recovered stolen items worth almost $13,000. These items comprised of electronics, sunglasses, cosmetics, handbags, and clothing.
Three individuals have been identified as the suspects: Andres R. Aguilar-Ceballos, Claudia J. Simosa, and Alexander Arias Gudino Kleiber.
Aguilar-Ceballos and Simosa hail from the Bronx, while Kleiber is a fellow New Yorker.
The authorities have charged all three of them with multiple offenses. They have been remanded to Bergen County Jail while they await legal proceedings.
