Police arrested a man on Saturday night for allegedly hitting a 9-year-old girl in the face at Grand Central Terminal that morning and charged him with felony assault.
At around 10:20 p.m., the MTAPD arrested Jean Carlos Zarzuela, 30, and charged him with assault 2 (felony assault), with more charges pending.
Zarzuela approached a 9-year-old Bronx girl who was standing with her mother in the Grand Central Terminal eating concourse at 11:49 a.m. and allegedly hit her in the face without warning.
The police claimed the girl was in discomfort and dizzy. Nearby MTAPD officers assisted the child, who was taken to NYU Langone-TTisch Hospital for treatment.
The MTAPD published a description of Zarzuela, whom they claimed was known to the department, around three hours before his arrest.
