An actor who appeared in popular TV shows like “NCIS,” “The Rookie,” and “Devil’s Night” has been indicted on misdemeanor charges. The charges are related to his involvement in entering the U.S. Capitol through a broken window on January 6, 2021.
Nolan Freeman, a resident of Nevada, stands accused of entering the Capitol at approximately 2:23 p.m., during the peak of the riot, and exiting just 28 minutes later. Although the indictment does not specify his specific activities within the building, it does mention that he was clad in a red hoodie, black jacket, and red hat.
According to a report by Politico, the indictment against Freeman contains seven photos that reportedly depict him inside and around the Capitol, accompanied by supporters of Donald Trump. Prosecutors stated that these images were extracted from security footage and a YouTube video titled “EXTREMELY close up view” of the riot.
Freeman is currently facing charges that are common among those arrested in connection to the riot. These charges include obstructing an official proceeding and unlawfully entering or remaining in a government building. Additionally, he has been accused of using loud, threatening, or abusive language to disrupt the orderly conduct of a session of Congress.
The FBI was alerted to Freeman’s alleged presence at the Capitol on December 2, 2022, when an individual reported him to the agency’s Reno, Nevada, field office.
Prosecutors used photos of Freeman at the crime scene and phone records showing they found his cell phone inside the Capitol on the afternoon of the riot as evidence against him.
They also used flight records to say that Freeman took American Airlines flights from Sacramento, California, to Washington, D.C., and back between January 4 and January 8, 2021.
The FBI said that they called Freeman to set up an interview for June 27, 2023. Prosecutors say he gave his phone number and then asked to talk to a lawyer when they asked him where he was on January 6, 2021.
Freeman’s last movie role was as Willie in the first episode of NCIS’s 17th season, which aired in 2019. His first role was in the short film Face to Face, which came out in 2010.
