Alina Habba Reports That Donald Trump Has The Ability To Post A $400 Million Bond To Appeal The Ruling Made By Judge Engoron

Aiexpress – According to Trump lawyer Alina Habba, the former president is willing to pay the substantial $400 million bond necessary for him to appeal the ruling on his business fraud case in New York.

Former President Donald Trump and his real estate empire, the Trump Organization, were found liable for fraud by a New York Judge Arthur Engoron. The judge ordered Trump to pay $355 million in fines. The charges against Trump and his organization involve inflating the value of assets to secure more favorable loans and insurance terms. Trump and his attorneys have expressed their intention to appeal the decision. However, the appeal process will commence once all the necessary paperwork related to the case has been filed at Engoron’s courthouse.

During an interview with Fox News’ Martha MacCallum on Monday, Habba, who served as Trump’s lead defense lawyer in the case, emphasized their intention to appeal Engoron’s decision. Habba noted that in order to proceed with the appeal, the defense team will need to post a bond, which will require them to provide the full amount plus some additional funds. Habba assured that they are fully prepared to meet this requirement.

According to Habba, the appeal bond will need to be posted within 30 days after the verdict and is expected to reach a total of nearly $400 million. NBC News reports that the appeal bond includes Trump’s $355 million verdict plus a 9 percent post-judgment interest, which would be collected by the state of New York if Trump’s appeal is unsuccessful.

According to Habba, the intention behind this case, which comes after his previous legal battle, is to force Trump out of business. However, he firmly believes that this tactic will not succeed. In fact, he sees it as nothing more than a scare tactic. Habba asserts that they have made a mistake by targeting him because he is a resilient and powerful individual who also happens to possess substantial financial resources.

New York Attorney General Letitia James, who filed the civil suit against Trump, lauded Engoron’s ruling as a significant triumph. In a recent post on X, formerly known as Twitter, she emphasized that no one, regardless of their size, wealth, or influence, is exempt from the law. This includes Donald Trump.

During her conversation with MacCallum on Monday, Habba strongly disagreed with James’ statement. She went on to challenge the “left-wing” prosecutors who are spearheading the investigations against Trump, urging them to demonstrate that nobody is exempt from the law. Habba pointed out the lack of action against Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden, and their associates in the deep state, emphasizing the need for accountability across the board.

Habba expressed her frustration, stating, “Martha, show me that no one is above the law, because I’m not seeing that. In court, all I see is the President being persecuted and prosecuted, even though he did nothing wrong. They are targeting him because they can’t defeat him in the upcoming election.”
