Arrest Made In Idaho Hospital Escape As Two Men Found Dead: Live Updates

Law enforcement officials held a press conference to announce that they have successfully captured the Idaho inmate who managed to escape custody following a shootout at a hospital. Additionally, they have also apprehended his accomplice.

On Thursday afternoon, law enforcement successfully apprehended Skylar Meade, a 31-year-old inmate from the Idaho Department of Corrections who had affiliations with a white supremacist organization. The capture took place near Leland, Idaho, alongside Nicholas Umphenour.

While searching for Meade and Umphenour, law officials discovered two additional homicide victims who “may have been involved” in the escape. Investigators discovered shackles at the scene of one of the homicides. Researchers are currently investigating them.

Meade and Umpehnour were apprehended without any shots being fired.

The incident occurred approximately one day after Meade managed to flee from custody while being transferred from a medical facility to a correctional facility. Law enforcement officials report that Umphenour arrived at the ambulance bay and opened fire, enabling Meade to make his getaway in the suspect’s vehicle.
