Bernie Moreno says Trump ‘will win the Hispanic vote’

In a recent interview, Ohio Senate candidate Bernie Moreno (R) expressed his prediction that former President Trump would secure the majority of Hispanic voters in the upcoming general election for president in November.

During an interview on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Maria Bartiromo questioned Moreno about the findings of a recent poll conducted by The New York Times and Siena College. The poll revealed that Hispanic American voters are showing a slightly higher level of support for former President Trump compared to President Biden. According to the survey, 46 percent of Hispanic voters surveyed expressed their support for Trump, while 40 percent favored Biden. It is worth noting that Biden had secured more Latino voters during the 2020 general election.

“I completely agree with that poll. In my opinion, President Trump will secure the Hispanic vote,” stated Moreno confidently. He recently emerged victorious in the Ohio Senate GOP primary race, thanks to the valuable endorsement he received from Trump.

According to Moreno, an immigrant from South America, he believes that Hispanic voters have more trust in Trump when it comes to handling immigration. He predicts that this sentiment will be evident in the upcoming November polls.

“I came here legally from Colombia, South America, where I was born. It is infuriating to see Biden and Senator Sherrod Brown rewarding people who break our laws by coming into this country illegally. Additionally, the crime and chaos caused by illegal immigration disproportionately affect Hispanic communities,” Moreno expressed, without providing any specific evidence.

Moreno persistently criticized Biden for his policies, arguing that they have worsened the situation on the southern border.

“The President’s victory in 2020 heavily relied on the Latino vote, and the same will hold true for 2024,” stated campaign manager Julie Chávez Rodríguez in a press release unveiling the initiative.

Latinos with Biden-Harris will play a critical role in engaging and rallying Latinos nationwide. Importantly, this initiative demonstrates our commitment to actively investing in earning the Latino vote.
