Joe Biden, the Democratic President, is experiencing a notable improvement in his poll ratings, which comes as a timely boost for the incumbent leader who has been facing various challenges.
According to Decision Desk HQ, a prominent elections data organization, Joe Biden’s approval rating has reached its highest point in the past five months. Based on an average of 1,150 separate polls, Biden’s approval rating stands at 44%.
According to DDHQ’s data, Biden’s current average approval rating does not reach his highest point in the past year. That occurred in early March 2023, where he garnered an average of 45% support, just weeks before a New York grand jury indicted former President Donald Trump.
According to The Hill/DDHQ’s chart, Biden’s approval rating hit its lowest point on March 2, with an average approval of 38.5%. This occurred shortly after the release of a report by then-US Special Counsel Robert Hur, which stated that the president had a “poor memory.”
The release of Hur’s report seems to have had a substantial impact on Biden’s polling. Survey after survey following the report’s publication revealed that a significant majority of voters expressed doubts about the 81-year-old Biden’s mental and physical fitness for another term in office.
Right before Hur’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on March 12, the transcript of his interview with the president was released online. This publication revealed that Hur might have exaggerated Biden’s memory issues in his report.
