Biden’s Polling Numbers Are On The Rise At A Crucial Time

Joe Biden, the Democratic President, is experiencing a notable improvement in his poll ratings, which comes as a timely boost for the incumbent leader who has been facing various challenges.

According to Decision Desk HQ, a prominent elections data organization, Joe Biden’s approval rating has reached its highest point in the past five months. Based on an average of 1,150 separate polls, Biden’s approval rating stands at 44%.

According to DDHQ’s data, Biden’s current average approval rating does not reach his highest point in the past year. That occurred in early March 2023, where he garnered an average of 45% support, just weeks before a New York grand jury indicted former President Donald Trump.

According to The Hill/DDHQ’s chart, Biden’s approval rating hit its lowest point on March 2, with an average approval of 38.5%. This occurred shortly after the release of a report by then-US Special Counsel Robert Hur, which stated that the president had a “poor memory.”

The release of Hur’s report seems to have had a substantial impact on Biden’s polling. Survey after survey following the report’s publication revealed that a significant majority of voters expressed doubts about the 81-year-old Biden’s mental and physical fitness for another term in office.

Right before Hur’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on March 12, the transcript of his interview with the president was released online. This publication revealed that Hur might have exaggerated Biden’s memory issues in his report.

The revelation, along with Biden’s highly energetic State of the Union performance, has likely had a significant impact on the president’s recent surge in popularity, defying the expectations of the polls. Following his address to Congress, Biden’s campaign managed to raise an impressive $10 million within the span of 24 hours.

A recent set of swing state polls, conducted by Bloomberg News/Morning Consult, lends support to the notion that his speech had an impact on his current standing among his supporters. These surveys were carried out in the days that followed his address, and the results show a noticeable increase in his support in the majority of crucial battleground states.

In the 2020 election, Biden emerged victorious in three pivotal swing states: Wisconsin, Nevada, and Arizona. These states played a crucial role in securing his electoral victory over Trump, with winning margins of less than 35,000 votes. As Biden gears up for the upcoming election, maintaining his hold on these states will be of utmost importance.

According to a report by Bloomberg News/Morning Consult, Biden is currently lagging behind Trump in support by a few percentage points in several battleground states. However, there are indications that he may be making progress in the right direction.

The ongoing chaos caused by the Republicans in the House of Representatives, including the recent filing of another “motion to vacate” against a sitting GOP speaker, could potentially work in Biden’s favor.

Presenting himself and Democratic candidates as the responsible adults in the room will strengthen Biden’s case for another four years in office, especially as congressional productivity declines.
