CPAC 2024: Kristi Noem Says Biden Has The Power To Resolve Border Crisis In Just One Day

Aiexpress – Governor Kristi Noem (R-SD) criticized President Joe Biden for his inaction in addressing the issue of illegal immigration on the southern border. In her remarks at the National Harbor, Maryland, she emphasized that the President possesses the authority to bring about significant changes within a mere 24-hour period through the existing laws.

During an interview at the American Conservative Union’s 2024 Conservative Political Action Conference, she expressed her belief that Joe Biden’s claim of needing a bill to make a difference was misleading.

According to the governor, President Biden has the ability to immediately implement the same policies that were in place during President Trump’s tenure in the White House.

According to the South Dakota governor, Biden has the ability to implement several measures to address the border situation. This could involve the adoption of a “Remain in Mexico” policy, securing the border, and granting Border Patrol agents the freedom to perform their duties without any constraints imposed by his administration.

According to Noem, what she finds most alarming is that Biden was fully aware that he had the power to reverse his own policies without having to wait for Congress. She believes that this ability would have brought about an immediate change.

“I felt like it was codifying illegal immigration,” she explained of the border legislation. “You would have put in statute the ability for people to come to this country illegally.”

She believes that passing legislation is unnecessary since Biden can address most of the issues at the southern border without it. And it was “a terrible bill,” she added. “It literally set a number of people who were allowed to come here illegally and not through our immigration process,” she said.

Noem has used her position as governor of South Dakota to try to address the border, where she believes the Biden administration is failing, by sending the state’s National Guard for the fifth time.

“They’ll actually be engineers constructing the working barrier,” she explained about the recent tour.

Regardless of its distance from the southern border, Noem stated that “people in South Dakota are living with the effects of that open border policy every single day.”
