Crossing guard’s widow intends to sue MTA for $28M following fatal shooting in subway

The MTA is facing a potential lawsuit as the widow of a crossing guard who was tragically shot on a Brooklyn subway plans to seek $28 million in damages. This legal action is detailed in court documents.

The lawsuit claims that MTA employees distributed images showing Richard Henderson in a pool of blood as well as the crime scene. Henderson was shot while breaking up a brawl over loud music on a No. 3 train in January, according to the New York Police Department.

The police have stated that no arrests have been made in the shooting. In an effort to encourage the public to come forward with information, the NYPD is offering a $10,000 reward for any details that may lead to an arrest.

Henderson, who dedicated a decade of his life to his role as a crossing guard at Avenues World School in Chelsea, was truly cherished by all who knew him, according to his family.

A GoFundMe campaign created to provide financial support for his family has managed to raise an impressive sum of over $370,000.
