Driver crashes into entrance of Atlanta FBI office, arrested on scene

According to officials from the FBI, a driver was taken into custody on Monday afternoon after ramming their vehicle into the front gate of the Atlanta FBI office.

The car attempted to follow an authorized vehicle as it entered the gate, prompting the activation of the pop-up barrier to halt the unauthorized car, according to officials.

The FBI Atlanta released a statement on Monday, reporting an incident where an individual drove into the front gate of their facility. They clarified that the person involved had no association with their organization.

“After the man exited his vehicle, several of our special agents who happened to be passing by swiftly apprehended him,” stated FBI Atlanta. “We are currently investigating potential state and federal charges.”

According to FBI officials, there were no reported injuries.

Officials said that the man’s motives are currently unknown, and he is currently undergoing evaluation at a local hospital.

FBI officials have stated that the vehicle is currently being examined by agents and bomb technicians as part of their standard operating procedure. The investigation is still ongoing at this time.

The office is located in Chamblee, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta.
