In 1984, Carmen had a co-writing credit on the hit soundtrack song “Almost Paradise” from the movie “Footloose.” The song, recorded by Mike Reno and Ann Wilson, became a smash hit. After a brief hiatus, Carmen made a comeback in 1985 with the release of “I Wanna Hear It From Your Lips,” which also achieved success. However, it was his involvement in the 1987 film “Dirty Dancing” that truly catapulted him back into the spotlight. In 2000, Carmen joined Ringo Starr’s All Starr Band for a tour. After a hiatus of 15 years, he made a comeback in 2013 with the release of his new song, “Brand New Year,” which was included in a best-of compilation in 2014.
