Tony Bobulinski’s lawyer issued a warning to Rep. Dan Goldman, alleging that the New York Democrat had defamed his client. The lawyer expressed intentions to take legal action against Goldman for his statements.
In a recent post, Goldman expressed concern about a specific threat that arose from an X post last week. The post mentioned Tony Bobulinski and accused him of using a lawyer paid by the Trump campaign to spread false allegations since October 2020.
Bobulinski’s lawyer, Jesse Binnall, has sent a letter to Goldman, stating that the tweet made by the New York representative is defamatory. The letter demands that the tweet be taken down.
In a demand letter, Binnal emphasized that Mr. Bobulinski, being fully aware of his position, has not made any false statements about his direct experience with the Biden family.
In response to the accusation that Mr. Bobulinski lied to federal investigators and Congress, a spokesperson strongly refuted the claim, stating that such a statement is defamatory and will not be tolerated. Additionally, the spokesperson clarified that President Trump’s campaign has never covered Mr. Bobulinski’s legal expenses. On the contrary, Mr. Bobulinski has personally paid over $500,000 in legal fees to various law firms since 2020.
“If you do not delete the post from X and publicly retract your statement on X within five days of receiving this letter, we will take legal action against you.”
Binnall has been involved in various legal matters, representing Trump and the Trump campaign.
Stefan Passantino, an attorney who has close ties to Trump, has a strong connection with the former president. He not only represented Bobulinski but also served in the Office of White House Counsel during Trump’s administration. Additionally, Passantino has worked for the Trump Organization, further strengthening his relationship with Trump.
The Post’s request for comment was not responded to by Goldman’s office.
As of Tuesday evening, the tweet was still active and had garnered over 260,000 views, according to X.
The day after Bobulinski testified before the House Oversight Committee as part of the Republican-led impeachment inquiry into President Biden’s alleged involvement in his family’s business dealings, the representative from New York’s 10th District made the post.
During the hearing, Bobulinski, a former Navy officer who worked closely with Hunter Biden and James Biden on a project involving CEFC China Energy, asserted that Joe Biden himself was the main focus of the Biden family business.
Bobulinski has been the most outspoken former Biden family associate since 2020. He publicly called the president a liar for dismissing documents from Hunter’s abandoned laptop as Russian disinformation ahead of Biden’s final debate against Trump.
Bobulinski made several appearances on national television where he shared the details of his interactions with the Biden family. He specifically mentioned two conversations he had with Joe Biden in May 2017.
