Former Representative George Santos accused of orchestrating own car break-in after demanding resignation of Mayor Adams

Former New York Rep. George Santos unleashed a furious rant against Mayor Eric Adams following an alleged burglary of his car in Queens on Tuesday night. However, City Hall has refuted Santos’ claims, asserting that the former politician fabricated the incident himself.

Santos, the Long Island Republican who was recently expelled from Congress due to federal fraud charges, took to social media on Tuesday night to share a video in which he claimed that his car had been burglarized in East Flushing.

Fabien Levy, the deputy mayor of communications for Adams, responded to Santos on the platform by accusing him of lying and orchestrating the burglary.

According to Levy, the NYPD discovered that there were “no apparent indications of forced entry” and noted that “all windows were open, undamaged, and seemed unharmed.”

According to the top Adams spokesman, he expressed a high level of certainty by stating, “You most likely broke into the car yourself.”

He also debunked Santos’ claim that his GMC Terrain was a “brand new car,” stating that the NYPD had reported it as a 2018 model.

On Tuesday night, a complaint for petit larceny was filed by Santos at the intersection of Colden Street and Juniper Avenue. He reported that his car had been broken into, with his “rear passenger window broken,” and his book bag and a gift basket worth $180 were stolen.

The department stated that the investigation was still ongoing and no arrests had been made at that time.

Santos has a reputation for creating false information about various aspects of his life, including his educational background, job history, and even his religion.

The ex-politician, who also allegedly donned drag queen attire during his time in Brazil over ten years ago, had previously asserted that he had fallen victim to two muggings and an assassination attempt in New York City. However, the NYPD had no records of these alleged incidents.

The compulsive liar is currently facing a 23-count federal indictment. The charges against him include allegations of laundering his campaign’s money and defrauding donors. Despite the serious accusations, he has pleaded not guilty to all counts.

A House Democratic super PAC has announced its strategy to launch an extensive advertising campaign worth $6 million. The objective is to win over the 3rd Congressional District seat, which includes a significant portion of Nassau County and a small part of Queens, in order to shift the political landscape towards the left.

Santos did not promptly respond to a call from The Post on Thursday.
