Georgia High School Football Player Saves Two People In A Fiery Vehicle Accident

Aiexpress – A high school football player in Georgia jumped into action to help save two people from a wreckage on his way to school in January, earning him praise from the sheriff’s office.

Cayman Reynolds was on his way to Sonoraville High School (Ga.) when he came to a halt due to a collision in which two automobiles were on fire and one flipped. He told the local Fox 5 station that while he was late for class, he brought out his phone to show his teacher when he observed a gathering of people around the car attempting to assist someone trapped inside. Reynolds stated that he pulled the car door open and grabbed the person’s legs, which were trapped beneath the steering wheel. “His quad was torn in half; he’s jammed under the steering wheel, so I had to pull him out,” he went on to say.

The group was successful in getting the first man out of the car. They then hurried to the other vehicle, where a man was trapped in the seatbelt, attempting to flee before the flames spread.

“I see a wrench; his toolbox has fallen out. I busted a window and removed the glass, but I was too big to get into the rear window, so I asked the smaller lady, who was about 4-feet-11-inches, to slip in there and undo his seat belt, and I said, ‘I’ll take him out,'” Reynolds told Fox 5.

The group rescued the person. Reynolds then attended class.

The student said he typically takes a different route to school than this one. “I don’t know why at the last second I did, but God put it in my heart,” he went on to say. The decision to reroute his path saved the day.

Gordon County Sheriff Mitch Ralston presented Reynolds, Sammie Roper, Lamar Turner, and Howard Pack with a Citizen Service Award and certificates stating that they were “instrumental in saving lives” and “displaying the highest qualities of courage and good citizenship.”
