Four individuals have been taken into custody in relation to the mysterious vanishing of two mothers from Kansas. Shockingly, one of the suspects is none other than the grandmother of one of the victim’s children. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation made this significant development known on Saturday. Tifany Machel Adams, 54, the grandmother of missing woman Veronica Butler’s children, was taken into custody and accused of two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of kidnapping, and one count of conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree on Saturday. Additionally, her boyfriend, Tad Bert Cullum, and two friends, Cora and Cole Earl Twombly, were apprehended on the same charges.
Butler, a 27-year-old woman, went missing recently when she was attempting to retrieve her children along with her acquaintance Jilian Kelley, who is 39 years old. The two of them disappeared while they were on their way to Eva, Oklahoma, where it is believed that Butler’s children might have been staying.
Butler was embroiled in a bitter custody fight with her children’s father, which erupted shortly before the two mothers disappeared. Butler sought additional visiting privileges and full custody of her children ten days before her disappearance.
According to an update posted on the OSBI Facebook page, police discovered two remains on Sunday that could be Butler and Kelley’s.
“Both individuals will be transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine identification as well as cause and manner of death,” according to the tweet. “This is still an ongoing investigation.”
Authorities discovered the pair’s abandoned vehicle weeks ago and “determined there was evidence to indicate foul play,” according to the OSBI’s original statement.
Sources informed NewsNation that there were “pools of blood” on the ground near where the abandoned automobile was discovered, as well as bloodstains inside the vehicle, though law enforcement has not confirmed this.
