Grandma Dies From 25 Stab Wounds After Getting Into A Teen’s Argument With Ex

Aiexpress – A 73-year-old Maryland woman was tragically stabbed Thursday after attempting to interfere in an argument between her granddaughter and a man who attempted to break into her home.

Angelo Terrell Spencer, 24, has been charged with first-degree murder and assault in connection with Mary Catherine Bland’s death and an attack on her 17-year-old granddaughter, who survived with non-life-threatening injuries, Bel Air police said. He was also charged with rape; however, it was unclear whether this was related to the same occurrence.

According to a news statement, cops arrived at Bland’s residence soon before 3 p.m. on Thursday to find her suffering from several stab wounds. She was promptly rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Spencer was taken into custody less than 90 minutes after officials received a 911 call, according to the press release.

“We know it was him inside the home. “He was identified and walked away from the residence,” Bel Air Police Chief Charles Moore told local NBC affiliate WBAL-TV. According to the site, Spencer had previously been in a relationship with the granddaughter.

According to a court document that WBAL-TV was able to obtain, Spencer bought a pocketknife and a glass cutter before the incident and made an attempt to break into Bland’s home from the back.

According to the TV station, Spencer then rang the front doorbell and spoke with Bland before reportedly pushing his way inside the home.

Moore told WBAL-TV that the stabbing occurred amid an altercation between the grandchild and Spencer. Bland attempted to interfere and was stabbed as a result, Moore stated.

Spencer allegedly stabbed Bland in the shoulder after she yelled, and then stabbed her again in a panic. Bland reportedly received 25 stab wounds.

According to the charging paperwork that WBAL-TV was able to obtain, Spencer acknowledged holding the 17-year-old by the neck but denied sexually abusing her.

According to court records acquired by HuffPost, Spencer is being held without bond. It’s unknown whether he has hired an attorney.

Charlotte Green, one of Spencer’s former coworkers, attended a Friday court session in his defense and expressed shock at the charges against him, according to WBAL-TV.

“Something had to set him off. Green told the newspaper, “I’m getting ready to cry.” “He’s full of life, and he’s too young for this to happen, and he’s going to ruin his life if he’s found guilty.”
