A 32-year-old man is currently facing charges for his involvement in disturbing sexual misconduct at his workplace in Fort Collins, Colorado. The allegations against him include ejaculating on food items and engaging in various other related offenses.
The Fort Collins Police Department received several reports about a man engaging in indecent behavior at local coffee shops. The incidents began in the summer of 2023 and involved both employees and customers. It is worth noting that one of the victims was a minor, as reported by Denver7.
Stephen Masalta, the suspect, was captured by authorities in February after an extensive investigation. In a news release on March 14, the police disclosed that during their examination of digital evidence collected from Masalta’s residence, they discovered proof of further criminal behavior.
Masalta worked at a Safeway on East Harmony Road for two months, from December 2023 to February 2024. While employed, he allegedly committed acts of self-gratification and ejaculated on food items that were not adequately sealed for commercial distribution. A spokesperson for Safeway, as reported by Denver7, expressed the company’s dedication to customer and employee safety. They expressed serious concern over the allegations against the former employee and assured full cooperation with law enforcement and health authorities in the ongoing investigation.
Masalta is facing numerous charges, which include multiple counts of indecent exposure, attempted indecent exposure, attempted unlawful sexual contact, and attempted sexual assault on a child. Authorities have also mentioned the possibility of additional charges being filed.
Fort Collins Police Chief Jeff Swoboda emphasized during a press conference that there is still additional footage that needs to be examined, and they are actively working to identify any additional victims. Currently, Masalta is in custody at the Larimer County Jail with a bond set at $35,000.
