Gunshots fired during road rage incident near Monument Circle on Christmas

Indianapolis police officers are currently on the lookout for the individual responsible for firing multiple gunshots in close proximity to a bustling Monument Circle.

The car zoomed away, but the victim caught sight of them once more at a red light on Illinois Street near Union Station.

The victim recalled asking, “Hey, are you OK? Are you guys good?” However, the perpetrators responded by shifting blame onto the victim, suggesting that it was their fault. It was evident that they were heavily intoxicated during the incident.

When the victim informed the individuals in the other vehicle that he intended to contact the authorities, the situation quickly escalated.

During the investigation, law enforcement officials thoroughly searched the vicinity surrounding Market and Illinois in search of bullet casings. However, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) reported that no casings were found. The department is confident that only the victim’s vehicle was struck by gunfire and that no other individuals or objects were affected.

“Imagine if you were in this situation, or if it were your child or someone you deeply cared about,” he expressed. “Would you genuinely believe that this is the best course of action?”

The victim, who had a gun with him in his vehicle at the time of the shooting and had undergone years of marksmanship training, expressed his greatest fear of having to use his weapon and potentially take someone’s life.

According to him, the shooter had a stroke of luck as no other individuals were injured. The downtown area and Monument Circle were bustling with people who had gathered to capture memorable moments with the Circle of Lights.

The victim expressed astonishment at the state of Indianapolis, stating, “It’s unbelievable that this is what Indianapolis has become.”

IMPD continues to actively investigate the incident in order to apprehend the shooter.

According to their advice, it is recommended that individuals refrain from engaging in direct confrontation with other drivers and allow law enforcement officers to handle such situations.
